{Personal Bio}

I'm Kristina-Nicole. Catholic. Orthodox. Female. Art-hippie.

Let's start with the J-Man. Growing up in a christian home - I always knew of the need for a savior. As I grew into adulthood, christianity filled me up, but I felt as though I were only eating the side dishes. I did well with the side dishes and made the most of them. But what was that darn turkey? Where was it? I discovered the Eucharist when I was 18, being a "good girlfriend" by attending a mass for my boyfriend at the time. The homily hit me. Eucharist = Jesus? Wwhhhhhhaaaattt? Didn't make sense - but something in me jolted. I attended RCIA meetings {rite of christian initiation for adults - a ministry focused on serving those that just have questions about catholicism & why they do what they do} that following tuesday. Lo' & behold: I was a bullet shooting out of a gun & became confirmed in this new faith 8 months later. The Lord has been the center of my everything since then. What a beautiful thing to have the fullness of 7 sacraments instead of 2. What a beautiful thing to realize that I am unconditionally loved. But the most amazing thing: to realize that the Gospel is not rainbows & butterflies. But that it says that life will suck sometimes, but that's ok. :)

Now, my beloved Christopher: the man I fell in love with the moment I met him. He's my caretaker, my gentleman, my comedian. And he's not hard on the eyes either! ;) He's such an inspiration & truly my best friend. We got married 10-01-2010.

Oh my affair of paper & ribbon. I guess it didn't help my cause when I worked at a scrapbook store for 8 1/2 years & they had over 20,000 different types of scrapbook paper! And not to mention over 300 spools of ribbon! When I was 14, I was asked to make a scrapbook for a family friend. Their daughter went to Australia & the mom wanted a memory book, "but ya know, prettier than just shoving pictures into some slots". ? Alright, I'l give it a go. "And I can pay you something for your time too." Great! I'll be done in two weeks! Being 14 and being offered to be paid for an art project was surreal & freakin' awesome! But this was my first book. I didn't know how to scrapbook. Sure I made some cards now and then, and I liked to draw out all different sorts of artistic fonts {remember those ABC, 123 Font books? my favorite was the "fiesta" font. I think they still sell them at Michael's}.  Well, I managed through my first book, and to my surprise, and I think the mom's too, she loved it!!

Several months later, I applied at a local So. Cal scrapbook store, with the push of my mother's esteem. I got the job. I GOT THE JOB!! They loved my "cave" font! lol. Everyday I got to work with the latest in scrapbooking supplies, teach others, sell product, play with product, and make store samples! I got to try out all the new toys before they hit the shelves {and also got to try them out to see if I wanted them - and of course, I always did!}. 8 1/2 years of bliss. It was a dream job that I wish I could still work sometimes. I got to see the catalogs of new releases before the advertisements hit the magazines. I got to create everyday. I always said that "it's not a good day until you've got glitter in your hair & paint on your hands". That's still my personal motto.

Please pray for me, that I continue to grow in the shadow of God's will & grace. That He takes me to where He wants me to go. I'm so excited to be on this journey! Thanks for listening!

xo,
